Carole Griffin is an award winning artist and elected member of the "Royal Society of British Artists".
She specialises in Still Life paintings using Oils or Watercolour. Working from life, the aim is to bring out the everyday beauty and drama of the manifest world with a touch of the existence behind it. It's not just about copying the objects in front. The portrayal and interpretation of Philosophical ideas is an important consideration. She exhibits annually at the Mall Galleries, London with the RBA as well as at other UK Galleries, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
Having been trained at Central St Martins, London, she later taught there as a Visiting Lecturer as well as at Norwich, Salisbury and Harrow Art Colleges. Carole was selected from across the UK and awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Travelling Scholarship. This provided many opportunities to work with a variety of artists and designers across North America.
In the March edition of the Artist and Illustrator's Magazine 2020, Carole was commissioned to demonstrate watercolours in a three page feature. The Dry Red Press have selected "Snowdrops and Stripes" to be produced as a 2019 RBA greetings card. In 2016 "Narcissi" was awarded the Dry Red Press Award. In 2014 Carole was awarded the Artist Magazine Award.
